{"id":614,"date":"2026-05-27T07:34:49","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T07:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=614"},"modified":"2026-05-27T07:34:49","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T07:34:49","slug":"hfd-suspends-search-for-missing-jet-ski-operator-off-oahus-north-shore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=614","title":{"rendered":"HFD suspends search for missing jet ski operator off Oahu\u2019s North Shore"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<section>\n<p>HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) &#8211; The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a missing jet ski operator off Oahu\u2019s North Shore after three days of extensive search efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=613\">JBPHH to conduct Major Accident Response Exercise<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Officials identified the missing man as 56-year-old Anthony Empting, who was last seen leaving Haleiwa Harbor Saturday morning aboard a personal watercraft.<\/p>\n<p>The Coast Guard said search crews covered about 400 square miles over more than 80 combined hours before suspending operations at 5 p.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuspending search efforts is one of the most difficult operational decisions we make,\u201d said Lt.
