HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – On Tuesday at about 11:55 p.m., a fatal collision occurred on Farrington Highway in the Kapolei area.<\/p>\n

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department that a 28-year-old man was driving eastbound on Farrington Highway at a high rate of speed when it rear ended a 60-year-old male motorist. <\/p>\n

The 28-year-old driver lost control and collided with the center concrete barrier, causing it to travel airborne over the barrier into the westbound lanes of Farrington Highway, where it rolled over multiple times. <\/p>\n

As a result of the collision, the 28-year-old was ejected onto the roadway and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. <\/p>\n

The 28-year-old driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old man remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision. <\/p>\n

At this time, speed appears to be a contributing factor to the collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a contributing factor.<\/p>\n

This is the 16th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 30 at the same time in 2025.<\/p>\n

The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
