HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A wild start to the holiday weekend! A sharp magnitude 6.0 earthquake rattled the state Friday night at 9:46 p.m., centered on the western flank of Mauna Loa in South Kona. The good news is that the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center confirmed right away that there is no tsunami threat, though the rolling shaker was felt all the way from the Big Island up to Oahu and Kauai. Reports form those on Hawaii Island near the epicenter did experience some damage with items falling off of shelves and even ceramic on a toilet breaking.<\/p>\n
