HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Happy Aloha Friday! Getting ready for beautiful trade winds this weekend!<\/p>\n

We\u2019re heading into a beautiful summer weekend with classic trade wind weather across the islands. Expect locally breezy trade winds with passing showers mainly over our windward and mauka communities, especially overnight and during the early morning hours. Most leeward areas will enjoy plenty of sunshine, making it a great weekend to get outside.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for something to do, the Prince Lot Hula Festival continues this weekend, and you\u2019ll also find Bon Dances and farmers markets happening across the islands\u2014perfect weather to enjoy all that Hawai\u02bbi has to offer.<\/p>\n

Surf Update:<\/b> South shore surf begins building Sunday, with even larger waves expected Monday into Tuesday that could reach High Surf Advisory levels. East shores will remain choppy through Saturday before gradually settling down.<\/p>\n

In the tropics: There\u2019s no threat to Hawai\u02bbi at this time. We\u2019ll continue watching Tropical Storm Elida in the eastern Pacific, which could send a small boost of surf to east-facing shores by the middle of next week. As always, we\u2019ll keep you updated if anything changes. There are more storms lining up in the eastern pacific, initial model runs aren\u2019t showing a threat but will keep an eye on them from start to finish.<\/p>\n
