HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Happy Aloha Thursday. If you\u2019re getting out and enjoying the weekend across the islands, the weather is looking pretty cooperative. Breezy trade winds will stick around through most of the weekend before easing a bit early next week. We\u2019ll stay in a typical summertime pattern, with passing showers mainly over windward and mauka areas\u2014especially overnight and during the early morning hours. Most leeward communities will stay dry, with just a few afternoon showers possible along the Kona slopes.<\/p>\n

There are plenty of fun events happening this weekend, from Bon Dances and farmers markets to community festivals and beach gatherings, so it\u2019s a great time to get outside. Just be ready for a passing trade shower if you\u2019re on the windward side and hang on to those tents and umbrellas because the trades will still be on the breezy side!<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re planning a beach day, east shores will be choppy with the stronger trades, while south shores will see a boost in surf beginning Sunday as a new south swell arrives.<\/p>\n

Boaters should also use caution, as strong trades continue to create rough conditions over the typically windier waters around Maui County and the Big Island.<\/p>\n
