{"id":2673,"date":"2026-07-16T10:04:55","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T10:04:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=2673"},"modified":"2026-07-16T10:04:55","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T10:04:55","slug":"four-uh-players-earn-preseason-all-conference-honors-at-mountain-west-media-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=2673","title":{"rendered":"Four UH players earn preseason all-conference honors at Mountain West media days"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<section>\n<p>LAS VEGAS (HawaiiNewsNow) &#8211; The Old Trapper Mountain West Football Media Days began Wednesday at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas with big honors for several University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=2671\">First responders receive specialized burn care training<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Homecoming for Bishop Gorman alums<\/h2>\n<p>The four players representing Hawaii \u2014 quarterback Micah Alejado, running back Cam Barfield, linebacker Jamih Otis and defensive back Elijah Palmer \u2014 shared a full-circle moment as they returned to Las Vegas, where they played together at Bishop Gorman High School.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s wild to see just how far we\u2019ve come, not just as football players, but as men,\u201d Palmer said. \u201cAll of growing up, we\u2019ve seen each other at an immature state and now we\u2019re mature, and all of us are going on with our lives and doing well, and it\u2019s a great thing especially with UH giving us the opportunity to represent the H.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The players took new NCAA photos and joined the Mountain West live show Wednesday.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2>Preseason All-Conference honors<\/h2>\n<p>The day started off on a high note when four Hawaii players were named to the Preseason All-Conference list: Alejado, Otis, Palmer, and wide receiver Pofele Ashlock.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore Alejado was also named Preseason Conference Offensive Player of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=2669\">New law sets statewide safety standards for e-bikes<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last season, Alejado was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year and led the conference in passing touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a blessing. Honestly it is, just to have that respect from everyone who voted,\u201d Alejado said. \u201cBut like I said earlier, I haven\u2019t done anything yet in 2026.
