{"id":2615,"date":"2026-07-15T07:05:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T07:05:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=2615"},"modified":"2026-07-15T07:05:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T07:05:25","slug":"halekauwila-street-closures-ahead-as-skyline-construction-heads-into-kakaako","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=2615","title":{"rendered":"Halekauwila Street closures ahead as Skyline construction heads into Kakaako"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<section>\n<p>HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) &#8211; With construction on Honolulu\u2019s Skyline rail system moving further into town, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation warns traffic changes will soon begin along Halekauwila Street heading into Kaka\u02bbako.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=2613\">Motorcyclist killed in crash on Kapiolani Blvd.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>HART CEO and executive director Lori Kahikina said additional closures will be required for the next stretch of work on the Ka\u2018\u0101kaukukui station (Civil Center).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be inconvenient, just like it was on the west side and Dillingham,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>Work is expected to begin with tree trimming and removals, followed by construction of shafts, columns and ultimately the station on Halekauwila and South streets.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>HART officials are encouraging the public to attend a meeting on July 15 to learn more about the construction timeline and impacts.
