HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The suspect in a terrifying airport carjacking that happened Wednesday evening has been charged.<\/p>\n

Garrett Spencer, 25, was charged with first-degree theft and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.<\/p>\n

Spencer is accused of carjacking a vehicle, with a teenage girl still in the back seat, at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Spencer was not charged with kidnapping because he let the young teen go once he noticed she was in the stolen car.<\/p>\n
