Expect the typical summer pattern with passing showers favoring windward and mauka communities, especially across the Big Island and Maui County today and tonight. Oahu may catch a few passing showers, but many leeward locations will stay mostly dry.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=2440\">Effort underway to revive critical boat ramp on Maui\u2019s north shore<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another pocket of moisture is expected to arrive Sunday, bringing another round of trade wind showers to the state. While a few showers could briefly become moderate, the atmosphere remains fairly stable, so widespread heavy rain or thunderstorms are not expected. Looking into next week, trade winds ease just a bit but remain locally breezy, with the usual windward showers continuing. Boaters should continue to use caution. <\/p>\n<p>Fresh to strong trade winds have prompted a Small Craft Advisory for all Hawaiian waters through Friday evening, and it may be extended into the weekend. <\/p>\n<p>East shores will remain rough and choppy from the persistent trades. Higher-than-normal high tides beginning Sunday and lasting into early next week could lead to minor coastal flooding in low-lying shoreline areas, particularly during the daily high tide cycles. <\/p>\n<p>We are keeping an eye on the Pacific, but there is no major threat, there is the possibility of development within the next several days as warm ocean waters continue to bring fuel for storms to potentially be born over the Eastern Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>Looking farther ahead, forecasters are also watching the tropics south and southeast of Hawaii.
