What\u2019s happening this weekend: A weather system is moving toward Hawaii and will arrive Friday evening. Here\u2019s what that means for you:<\/p>\n

Showers will increase \u2014 especially Friday through Monday, with the heaviest rain hitting windward areas and higher elevations (where moisture gets forced up the mountains)<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

It\u2019ll feel muggy \u2014 humidity will spike into the low 70s, and winds will be lighter than usual. Western islands get hit first (Friday), then the rain shifts east by Sunday-Monday. <\/p>\n

Expect wet commutes and outdoor plans might get rained on this weekend. Hiking trails will be slippery and visibility could be poor. If you\u2019re planning beach time, expect lighter winds.<\/p>\n

South shore stays small, East shores rough because of the bump in the trades. North shore is 6-8 today and west sides will be 3-5.<\/p>\n

NOTE: High tides will reach about 3 feet; this means rough conditions along the shoreline in the afternoons. Avoid rocky\/low lying coastal areas during afternoon high tides.<\/p>\n
