Josh Green has signed a bill that bans commercial gondolas, cable cars and ropeways in Hawaii.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=1947\">Honolulu AIDS Walk raises over $124K amid funding concerns<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Act 172, formerly House Bill 1881, was signed Friday, and was introduced this session in response to a controversial proposal to build a gondola on the side of Mount Kaala on Oahu\u2019s North Shore.<\/p>\n<p>The plan drew protests from area residents.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Keep the North Shore County said in part:<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><i>\u201cKeep the North Shore Country is grateful for the strong leadership from State and City officials in stopping the proposed gondola from being built on the side of Mount Kaala.
