HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Gov. Josh Green is set to become the next chair of the Western Governors\u2019 Association.<\/p>\n

Green will travel to Utah from June 27 through July 2 to attend the association\u2019s annual meeting, where he will officially assume leadership of the bipartisan organization representing Western states and territories.<\/p>\n

As chair, Green will launch his initiative, Health Beyond Healthcare, focusing on improving mental health by addressing clinical care as well as the social and environmental factors that affect health and well-being.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a privilege for Hawai\u02bbi to lead the Western Governors\u2019 Association during this important moment,\u201d Green said. \u201cSupporting good mental health is one of the defining challenges of our time and improving outcomes requires us to look beyond the walls of a clinic.\u201d<\/p>\n
