Expect light, brief showers mainly on the eastern sides of the islands and in the mountains, mostly at night and in the morning. The drier, leeward side may catch an occasional shower too. Sunday night into Monday, a surge of extra moisture moves in, boosting shower chances. The mountains will force that moist air upward, squeezing out some moderate showers mainly on the wet, eastern sides of the islands and in the mountains. <\/p>\n<p>By Tuesday into Wednesday, a bigger batch of moisture arrives, bringing more widespread showers \u2014 including on the normally dry, leeward sides. Anywhere that doesn\u2019t get showers will feel hot and sticky with thick, humid air. There\u2019s also a weather system far to the west that could punch up the rain if it drifts closer, though that\u2019s still uncertain. Either way, some brief heavy downpours are possible mid-week. A new south swell arrives late Saturday, peaks Sunday, then gradually backs off early next week \u2014 bringing surf back up to about average for this time of year. On the east-facing shores, expect rough, choppy conditions with a slight improvement possible early next week.
