HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – An Oahu man has been charged with multiple federal offenses related to child pornography that allegedly involve a 15-year-old girl on Hawaii Island.<\/p>\n

Jeramie Arend, 43, appeared in U.S. District Court Tuesday on charges of producing, receiving, and distributing child pornography following an FBI investigation.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, Arend allegedly met the girl on Snapchat last year, and the two exchanged sexually explicit photos and videos for several months.<\/p>\n

The FBI said Arend rented an Airbnb in Keaau last April, where he recorded them having sex.<\/p>\n

Federal prosecutors requested that Arend be held without bail, saying he has a flight booked to Japan and poses a flight risk.<\/p>\n
