No plans of any kind of swimming,\u201d Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Keopele Gowan said. \u201cWe are still discovering what may have happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just before 9 a.m., two other hikers found the father\u2019s backpack near an area of the hike known as \u201cRock Bridge\u201d and called authorities. The Coast Guard added that Honolulu fire personnel found the man\u2019s car near the trailhead entrance. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Honolulu police described the man as about 6 feet tall and 187 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
