The Bulldogs dealt with road closures in Windward Oahu, causing their bus ride to last three hours.<\/p>\n<p>The team still refused to slow down, performing a three-set sweep over the Chargers.<\/p>\n<p>The Bulldogs claimed the first set by scoring 25-18 before dominating the second set with a score of 25-9.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The Chargers applied some pressure on the third set, but the Bulldogs prevailed at 25-21.<\/p>\n<p>The Bulldogs\u2019 win ends a 16-1 season, the team\u2019s first under Coach Makana Wade, son of UH Men\u2019s volleyball head coach Charlie Wade.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=172\">2 dead, 4 injured in head-on crash on Hawaii Island<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Laakea Kamahele, a Bulldog outside hitter, performed a match high of 20 kills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just feels surreal that we\u2019re even here right now,\u201d said Kamahele. \u201cAll the work we\u2019ve put in for the past few years, it\u2019s amazing to see that we\u2019ve gotten this far.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kamahele said the experience felt unreal because he felt surrounded by love from fans, friends, and family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just feels amazing,\u201d Kamahele said.<\/p>\n<p>Jake Heidsieck, another outside hitter on the team, said Coach Wade helps the players stay in the moment where they can thrive and be disciplined throughout the season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt showed tonight where we totally dominated on the court, and all the hard work we\u2019ve put in showed,\u201d said Heidsieck.<\/p>\n<p>The Division I title match between Punahou High School and Moanalua High School was moved to Saturday at 6 p.m. due to inclement weather.
