HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – After a lovely Father\u2019s Day weekend we are getting a little bit relief from the heat as the trade winds start turning up a notch, but it is still HOT!<\/p>\n

A fairly quiet weather pattern is in place to start the week, with mostly dry and stable conditions expected today. Light to moderate trade winds will keep a few passing showers focused over windward and mauka communities, while most leeward areas stay sunny and warm. A few afternoon clouds and isolated showers could pop up over interior sections, but rainfall amounts should remain light.<\/p>\n

The bigger weather story arrives during the middle of the week. Moisture moving in from the east, combined with an upper-level low developing over the islands, will increase instability and raise rain chances from Tuesday through Thursday.<\/p>\n

Expect more frequent showers, especially for windward and mauka areas, though some of that moisture could occasionally drift into leeward neighborhoods as well. While widespread flooding is not anticipated at this time, residents should prepare for wetter conditions and periods of heavier showers than we\u2019ve seen recently.<\/p>\n

By Friday and into the weekend, the wetter pattern shifts west of the state and more typical trade wind weather returns. Breezier easterly winds will develop, humidity levels will ease, and showers will once again favor windward and mountain areas, leaving most leeward communities drier.<\/p>\n

For ocean conditions, south shore surf will remain near seasonal averages through the week, with a small boost expected Wednesday night into Thursday. East shore surf will gradually increase as trade winds strengthen, while north shore surf remains tiny to flat.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend, weather conditions appear favorable for outdoor plans with breezy trades, comfortable temperatures, and a return to the familiar pattern of mainly windward showers and drier leeward weather.<\/p>\n
