Father\u2019s Day weekend is shaping up nicely across the islands.<\/p>\n

After a few afternoon showers today, especially over interior areas of Kauai and Oahu, the weather settles into a pretty typical summer pattern. Saturday brings plenty of sunshine with just a few afternoon clouds and isolated showers developing over the mountains. It will still feel a little muggy, but not quite as sticky as it has been recently.<\/p>\n

For Father\u2019s Day Sunday, expect a mix of sunshine and passing clouds with light to moderate easterly winds. A few brief showers may brush windward and mauka communities during the overnight and morning hours, but most leeward areas and beach locations should stay dry for family barbecues, beach outings, golf rounds, and outdoor celebrations.<\/p>\n

Surf along south-facing shores will gradually ease through the weekend, but there should still be enough wave action for those heading to the beach. <\/p>\n

East shore surf remains on the smaller side before beginning to build again next week as trade winds return.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, a more typical trade wind pattern develops by Monday, bringing cooler, more comfortable conditions along with a return of passing windward showers during the nights and mornings.<\/p>\n

Overall, Father\u2019s Day weekend gets a thumbs up from the weather department: warm temperatures, plenty of sunshine, manageable humidity, and only a few brief showers in the usual spots.<\/p>\n
