HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A popular shopping event is celebrating local businesses that honor and perpetuate Hawaiian culture.<\/p>\n

More than 100 local businesses from across Hawaii are showcasing their products at the 5th annual Ho\u2019omau Market at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall June 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and June 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

Jaclynn Sabado-Eitel, owner of Paradise Now, joined HNN\u2019s Sunrise <\/i>to talk about what you can expect at the event and to showcase her local designs and art. You can find her at booth D11.<\/p>\n

Many of Sabado-Eitel\u2019s designs are inspired by growing up on Maui and feature a range of shells, floral, and lei pieces, as well as hand-painted artwork.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think running a small business in Hawaii has always been challenging. We have shipping and all these different factors that make it difficult to do it in the islands because we\u2019re in the middle of the ocean. But I think if you\u2019re creating, we\u2019re really good in Hawaii about being creative and finding resources,\u201d Sabado-Eitel said.<\/p>\n

Sabado-Eitel was born and raised on Maui in an artistic family. Always encouraged to practice and learn art, she has been a creator since a young age. She went to art school at Kent State University.<\/p>\n

After college, she returned to Maui, where she continued creating and took inspiration from the natural beauty of her home and friends as muses. She paints in a surreal-impressionist style through a local girl\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n

Paradise Now has two locations: 2958 E. Manoa Road on Oahu and in downtown Wailuku on Maui.<\/p>\n
