Most days, the duo behind the self-serve stand isn\u2019t posted up front chatting with visitors.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re usually at home sleeping,\u201d Carvahlo joked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe usually let you guys do your own thing,\u201d said Bermudes.<\/p>\n<p>Kukane St. Stand runs on a simple system: customers stop by, choose what they want, pay, and head out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou just come, pick, pay, and leave,\u201d Bermudes said.<\/p>\n<p>To make it easier, they set up envelopes where customers write down what they bought, put cash inside, and drop it in\u2014helping the owners track sales and inventory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of them\u2026 are so nice, they list everything in price and then tally it and total it for us. It\u2019s been very helpful,\u201d Carvahlo explained.<\/p>\n<p>One customer called it a win for busy mornings: \u201cHonestly, I think it\u2019s really great. It\u2019s so convenient.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The menu reflects their favorite passions\u2014coffee and baking\u2014offered fresh for the neighborhood.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s some scone, cookies, brownies, orange dream cake that tastes just like\u2026 the orange bang,\u201d they said, describing the day\u2019s treats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer passion is coffee,\u201d Carvahlo said. \u201cAnd my passion is baking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kukane St. Stand officially opened on February 12, 2026, and all items are made in a commercial kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>The convenience comes with a lot of behind-the-scenes work. To prepare for the days they\u2019re open, baking starts in the evening and runs through the night.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cOur nightly routine is usually\u2026 baking starting at like 5 p.m. and then ending around 3 a.m.,\u201d Carvahlo said.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiimovinginsider.com\/?p=1223\">Police seize drugs, gambling machines, cash from Mililani property<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After a short nap, they\u2019re back up to set up the stand by 5 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Each open day can mean <i>about 10 hours<\/i> of baking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t like baking things ahead of time and letting it sit\u2026 it\u2019s the freshest it can be,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>They typically open three days a week to keep up with the pace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday\u2014so we can have a break.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven for like the lattes too, I\u2019m literally prepping my ingredients till 1 (a.m.).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The partnership is new, but the connection was instant.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Bermudes and Carvahlo only met this past December after a package was accidentally delivered to the wrong address.<\/p>\n<p>Carvahlo used to live in the home Bermudes resides in now.<\/p>\n<p>Lila reached out using the contact information on top, offering to mail it back\u2014or let Carvahlo pick it up. Carvahlo grabbed it while taking her kids to school nearby.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the way to school, I came, I picked it up, and I said hi\u2026 and then like 30 minutes later, we were talking about a farm stand,\u201d Carvahlo said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s kind of how the beginning of it started\u2026 it was a mistake\u2026 but it was meant to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The stand\u2019s honor-system concept is rooted in their view of the community around them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKaneohe is such a good environment, it\u2019s a really honest community,\u201d Bermudes said.
