HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Fresh off an NCAA championship win, sophomore Kristian Titriyski is leaving the University of Hawai\u2018i men\u2019s volleyball program to pursue a professional volleyball career.<\/p>\n

In a message posted on X, the 6-foot-8 outside hitter from Sofia, Bulgaria, thanked Hawai\u2018i and its fans for their support:<\/p>\n

\u201cI came here to play volleyball, but I leave with so much more than I could have ever imagined. … These past two years, have been the best two years of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a video released by UH, Titriyski called Hawai\u2018i \u201cone of my favorite places in the entire world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI met so many friends here, so many new people and just I grew here,\u201d he said, adding it was the first time he had lived alone outside of home.<\/p>\n

The opposite\u2019s two years in M\u0101noa were stellar. Titriyski amassed nearly 600 kills and was a key piece to the team\u2019s 2026 national championship run, accounting for 16 kills in the Rainbow Warriors\u2019 four-set win over UC Irvine.<\/p>\n

Titriyski thanked head coach Charlie Wade and associate coach Milan Zarkovic for bringing him to UH, and said he followed the team before he arrived.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still remember it was the \u201923 season where they didn\u2019t win it, but still reached the final. I was just like, they won me, the whole team and everything around it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Titriyski credited Hawai\u2018i\u2019s volleyball atmosphere and fan support, saying fans \u201cdon\u2019t only support the team, but they actually care about you as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n

He urged fans to keep backing the program. \u201cDon\u2019t stop supporting the team,\u201d he said. \u201cThat is something special.\u201d<\/p>\n
