HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – This week on Spotlight Now, we\u2019re tracking a major milestone at Aloha Stadium with the final phase of \u201ctripping\u201d taking place just hours ago.<\/p>\n

Crews have been removing sections of the stadium bowl using the technique \u2014 a safe, controlled collapse used to remove structural supports. <\/p>\n

Brennon Morioka, special adviser, and developer Stanford Carr join us with an update on the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District. <\/p>\n

Demolition began in mid-February and is on track to wrap in December. <\/p>\n

Carr said the $650 million public-private project remains on schedule for a 2029 opening, with 31,000 seats and a potential 10,000-seat expansion.<\/p>\n
