Thanks to a fairly stable atmosphere, heavy rain is not anticipated, and most leeward areas should continue to see plenty of dry periods and sunshine.<\/p>\n<p>As the trade winds weaken Thursday through the weekend, our weather pattern will begin to shift. Lighter winds may allow sea breezes to develop during the afternoons, leading to increased cloud build-up and a few showers over typically drier leeward and interior areas. <\/p>\n<p>This means some neighborhoods that have stayed mostly dry lately could see brief afternoon showers by Saturday and Sunday. Looking ahead, stronger trade winds are expected to return early next week.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>For anyone making weekend plans, weather conditions look generally favorable but keep an eye out for localized afternoon clouds and showers, particularly inland and leeward. Beachgoers should pay close attention to the surf forecast. <\/p>\n<p>A powerful south-southwest swell is expected to arrive Saturday night and peak Sunday into early next week. The current Small Craft Advisory remains in effect through this evening for the typically windy waters around Maui County and the Big Island, but marine conditions should become less rough as winds diminish.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the week ahead features a classic Hawaiian trade-wind pattern transitioning to lighter winds and more localized afternoon cloudiness by the weekend.
