Police execute search of illegal gambling room in Kalihi, 12 machines seized

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – On Wednesday, the Honolulu Police Department executed a search warrant on an illegal gambling-type game room in Kalihi.

HPD said the search took place around 8 p.m. on North King St, which resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of multiple gaming machines and cash.

HPD recovered 12 gaming machines and more than $4,000 in cash.

During the course of the execution, HPD arrested a 26-year-old man for promoting gambling in the second degree and possession of a gambling device. The arrest was made without incident.

“The purpose of our operations is not only to shut down illegal gambling activity, but to also prevent the associated criminal elements that often accompany these operations from impacting our communities,” said Maj. Jerome Pacarro of the Narcotics/Vice Division.
