Marine Master Sergeant and owner of 404patties Gregory North joined Hawaii News Now Sunrise in the kitchen to share his favorite homemade recipes, from juicy burgers and wings to loaded mac and cheese.
North said it all started from cooking back home with family in the backyard. His wife inspired him to get out there and take a leap of faith.
North showed off a cheesesteak made with 100% prime rib on butter-toasted buns, and deep-fried chicken wings battered with cracked seasoning — a mixture of honey lemon pepper with sugar for a sweet-spicy kick.
“We pair it with our mac and cheese,” North said. “It’s a four-cheese blend — little gouda, mozzarella, extra sharp cheddar.”

Atlanta style, he said, is all about flavor combinations extra crispy, extra wet wings, buffalo sprinkle lemon pepper — what he grew up with, now brought to Hawaii.
Locals love it, North said. “We have a lot of repeat customers. They love it for sure. It’s different. The flavors are different and it’s all homemade, so it’s going to be consistent every time you get it.”
North say’s it’s a family effort. His wife from Trinidad and him from down South, have combined their flavors together. His kids also love to cook, as his son is seen smashing burgers at vendor events.
