The company will hold two live shows at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena on Oct. 16 and 17, marking its first Oahu events since 2019.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque said Hawaii’s long connection to professional wrestling helped make the return meaningful.

“Hawaii has such a rich heritage for us, from The Rock, from his grandfather, Peter Maivia,” Levesque said. “It’s been such an amazing place for us.”

The lineup is expected to feature several top WWE stars, including Seth Rollins, Liv Morgan and Oba Femi. Polynesian wrestlers Jacob Fatu and brothers Jey and Jimmy Uso are also expected to appear.

“Always expect the unexpected,” Levesque said. “You can expect excitement, you can expect surprises, you can expect to be entertained.”

WWE will also use its time in Hawaii to look for potential new talent.

Levesque said the company plans to hold tryouts in hopes of finding the next generation of professional wrestlers from the islands.

“We’re looking for the next one, and we’re gonna be looking for it while we’re there,” he said.

Levesque said WWE looks for more than athletic ability, emphasizing personality and the ability to connect with an audience.

“The biggest thing we look for is charisma,” he said. “Somebody that can connect with other people, somebody that can draw in a crowd.”

WWE’s return comes as the company looks to continue the long history of Polynesian wrestlers who have found success in the organization.
