‘Bows prepare for high-altitude showdown with Wyoming
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – After a bye week to reset, the University of Hawaii football team is a full go as they hit the road for Wyoming.

Artificial sounds filled Ching Field Tuesday morning as UH prepares for the environment inside the Cowboys’ War Memorial Stadium.
“I think homecoming, I think it, it seats 29,000 in there and so, you know, anywhere between 22 to 29, it’s gonna make it pretty loud and so for us I think, we just gotta get ready for everything.” Coach Timmy Chang said.
The ‘Bows are also benefiting from the return of key players who went down with injury early in the year with running back Cam Barfield and defensive end Lesterlaisene Lagafuaina back on the practice field.
“I’m mostly excited to be with my boys, you know, being on the sideline cheering, that’s another way of adding value,” Lagafuaina said. “I wanna add a lot more value on that field and just to be out there, it feels really great and a blessing.”
After spending most of last week in a sling on his right arm, quarterback Micah Alejado was also a full participant.

“It was humongous, take a time to take a deep breath and understand what’s happening and understanding what’s coming forth,” Alejado said. “We have a five game stretch that we gotta go win out, so just got ready for that mentally and physically and excited for this first week.”
This week is also a rivalry game as UH will play the Cowboys for the Paniolo Trophy. UH currently holds the hardware after beating the Pokes in Honolulu last season.
“Two great programs that represent their states respectively, Coach Chang said. ”Get to go and compete again for a trophy, it does mean something.”
Kickoff between UH and Wyoming is set for Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Hawaii time on The CW.
