Aloha United Way celebrates annual Day of Caring across Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Aloha United Way brought volunteers with local nonprofits together for its annual Day of Caring on Saturday.

Sponsored by Amazon, the event offered a range of hands-on volunteer opportunities to support a variety of organizations and strengthen communities across Oahu.

Projects varied by location and included painting outside the Hawaii Theatre Center with anti-graffiti paint, personalizing teddy bears for dementia patients at St. Francis Healthcare, and lei for bereaved caregivers. Along with packing meals for kūpuna at Lanakila Pacific.

“Day of Caring is an easy way for people to connect with organizations working on issues they care about and put their own skills to work,” said Aloha United Way President and CEO Michelle Bartell.
