12-year-old charged after allegedly pointing gun at teen in Ewa Beach

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The 12-year-old boy who allegedly pointed a gun at a teen in Ewa Beach along Fort Weaver Road Thursday has been charged.

On Friday, the Honolulu Police Department said the boy was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, place to keep and prohibited weapons.

The charges stem from an incident Thursday morning at around 7:40 a.m. when the boy allegedly approached a 13-year-old girl near a business on Fort Weaver Road, waved a firearm and threatened to shoot her brother.

The girl later reported the incident at school.

A firearm was subsequently recovered from the boy’s backpack by school staff and police were notified.

No one was hurt.

Police initially arrested the boy for first-degree terroristic threatening and place to keep.
