Oahu damage assessments from Hurricane Lala begin

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Teams began conducting damage assessments across Oahu from Hurricane Lala Thursday.

Assessors from the city, state and federal government began joint preliminary damage assessments in areas where damage was reported by residents or city staff reported on the city’s residential damage assessment tool.

Officials said surveys will be done primarily from the street, but residents are welcome to show the damage inside their properties.

All assessors will have identification that can be presented if requested.
