The North Shore duo, who balance their passion for singing with surfing, captured the hearts of judges and audiences alike during their initial auditions and subsequent callback performances. Most recently, the brothers took the stage for the live quarterfinals on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, delivering a fresh, soulful rendition of the classic ballad “I Swear.”

As they compete for a spot in the semi-finals, Hawaii is rallying behind the North Shore duo. Viewers can follow the brothers’ journey and cast their votes on the official America’s Got Talent app.

Hawaii-based artist Mel Kay on her heartfelt Single ‘Younger’

Singer/songwriter Mel Kay also talked story with Billy V to share her latest music. She opened up about a harrowing year that reshaped her creative outlook.

Kay faced a major life-altering event last year when she was struck by a vehicle while riding her motorcycle. The collision resulted in extensive injuries, including a fractured pelvis, a fractured nose, and lacerations.

“I was able to walk very slowly within a few weeks and gradually recover,” Kay shared, expressing deep gratitude for her survival.

While she has made a remarkable recovery, the physical toll of the accident shifted her focus, as Kay found comfort away from the stage.

“It made me really prefer the studio a little bit,” Kay admitted. “I’ve been really enjoying writing and recording in this season… and just stepping away from live music a little bit until I’m ready to get back there.”

The accompanying ‘Younger’ music video, which Kay edited and color-graded herself, features Hawaii actors and captures a striking, memory-like atmosphere. In a powerful moment of healing, Kay got back on a motorcycle for the first time since her accident to film scenes alongside her co-producer.

“She agreed to ride with me on my first time back on my bike and do almost like a reflection of when we were younger—brought into what it’s like growing up and having the hard realities of life hit you, but still not being alone,” Kay said.

‘Younger’ also exemplifies Kay’s deeply personal approach to song writing. The song is dedicated to her friend who passed away from cancer. At the age of 20, Kay herself was fighting Lyme disease, and walked alongside her friend and they both battled serious illness. Kay dedicates this song to him, and hopes his memory will live on through her music.
