First Alert Forecast: Moke leaves behind some muggy weather

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The impacts from Moke have been minimal compared to Lala. Thankfully! But Moke has left us with some very sticky weather. As I write this it is 88 degrees in Honolulu with a “feels like” of 96 degrees. Ugh!

The trade winds are doing their best to cool us down. We can call them breezy at 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

Similar conditions are expected tomorrow and perhaps Wednesday with some relief (a lower dewpoint) coming the second half of the week.

As Moke scoots off to the west, Lala is still a tropical storm far to our northwest. Tropical storm Iselle has formed just SW of Baja. Not too far away there’s a new tropical cyclone called Ten-E, the tenth to form in the East Pacific this hurricane season. It’s a tropical depression and is expected to strengthen over the next couple of days.

And then there are 3 additional areas of interest being tracked by the National Hurricane Center. They are all just south of Iselle, far to our east. We’ll keep an eye out for you here at your First Alert Weather station.
