Due to widespread power interruptions and roads that are currently impassable or unsafe, some post offices on Hawaii Island are unable to open at this time, postal officials announced.

In areas such as the Ka’u District, where storm damage has restricted road access, mail is being held securely and staged. USPS officials said deliveries to these areas will remain paused until local authorities reopen routes, making it safe for employees to travel and facilities to resume operations.

Other postal locations are experiencing power outages and will reopen as soon as local utilities are fully restored and the sites can operate safely.

Customers in storm-affected areas are advised to monitor local conditions closely. Those in immediate need of postal services are urged to use nearby open post offices where available.
