HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Technicians are investigating why emergency sirens began sounding on Oahu Sunday afternoon.

Hawaii News Now received reports of sirens going off in Moanalua Valley, Mililani, and Wahiawa at around 3:45 p.m.

The city Department of Emergency Management issued an alert confirming that at least one siren was malfunctioning and sounding in error.

Officials emphasized that there was no emergency, and no evacuations are in effect.
