State Sen. Keohokalole enters race for Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – State Sen. Jarrett Keohokalole officially filed his candidacy for U.S. Congress on Wednesday.

The 42-year-old is running for Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District seat against incumbent U.S. Rep. Ed Case.

Keohokalole held a public rally at Magic Island to kick off the next phase of his campaign. He was joined by supporters including the Hawaii State Teachers Association and former Gov. Neil Abercrombie.

“I’m a dad, a husband, and a local boy. I grew up here,” Keohokalole said. “I’m running to lower costs, protect health care, to fight for our future, because we need leadership now.”

Keohokalole is married and has three children. He graduated from Saint Louis School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and worked as a lawyer before entering politics.
