First Alert Forecast: Hurricane Warning posted for Hawaii Island, Tropical Storm Warning posted for the rest of the State

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Tropical Storm Lala will move over or just south of the islands this weekend but wind, rain and surf impacts will be felt statewide. A Hurricane Warning is in effect for Big Island and a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the rest of the state. For now Lala remains a Tropical Storm, but strengthening is expected to bring Lala to hurricane status later today.

High Surf Warning posted for parts of Maui County and Hawaii Island due to the swell produced by Lala. Surf will rise for the rest of the state through the weekend as Lala passes to the south of the state.
