Police arrest one while shutting down illegal gambling operation in McCully

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu Police Department executed a search warrant on an illegal gambling-type game room in McCully on Tuesday.

At 6:30 p.m., HPD executed a search warrant on Algaroba Street, resulting in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of multiple gaming machines and cash.

HPD recovered 18 gaming machines and more than $11,000 in cash.

During the course of the execution, HPD arrested a 60-year-old man for promoting gambling in the second degree and possession of a gambling device. HPD arrested the patron without incident.

“The McCully operation is the 16th illegal gambling search warrant executed so far in 2026 and the third in the month of May,” said Maj. Jerome Pacarro of the Narcotics/Vice Division.
