85th annual Na Hula Festival brings music, dance to Kapiolani Park
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hula took center stage at Kapiʻolani Regional Park on Sunday for the 85th annual Nā Hula Festival.

The free event ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the park’s bandstand, featuring performances from several hālau, the Royal Hawaiian Band, and 2026 Lei Queen Pua and her court.
Organized by the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation, the event has been held since 1940 and is Hawaiʻi’s longest-running noncompetitive hula festival. Organizers said it celebrates the artistry and tradition of hula while bringing the community together for a day of music and dance.

Featured performers included Hālau Nā Pua Hala Kūnou i ke Kai, Nā Wāhine o ka Hula mai ka Puʻuwai, Hālau Hula o Pua Aʻala Hone, and Hālau Hula o Hōkūlani.
