Firefighters respond to overnight two-story residential structure fire in Makakilo

MAKAKILO (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Honolulu Fire Department responded to an extinguished fire at a two-story Makakilo residential structure.

On Tuesday, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:37 a.m. and initially responded to a building fire on Welo St in Makakilo.

The first unit arrived on scene at 1:43 a.m. and found an extinguished fire at a two-story residential structure.

Firefighters initiated overhaul procedures with the initial engine company and an aerial company, while releasing all other resources.

The fire was declared fully extinguished at 2:34 a.m. All HFD personnel were accounted for, and no injuries were reported.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the origin and cause of the fire, as well as to assess damage estimates.
