Additional arrests made in Lahaina pool-area assault, riot investigation
LAHAINA (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Maui Police Department has made additional arrests in connection with an ongoing investigation in Lahaina.

Police said the arrests stem from an assault and riot reported July 17 at the pool area on Nohea Kai Drive.
As a result of the continuing investigation, detectives arrested the following individuals on Monday:
Police said all three were released to their parents after Family Court was notified.
The arrests come in addition to the previously reported arrest of a 20-year-old Makawao man on suspicion of second-degree assault, who was later released pending investigation.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and the department cannot discuss specific case details at this time.
If investigators find evidence the incident was motivated by bias, including racial bias, or involved gang-related activity, police said additional charges could be filed. Any potential federal violations would be referred to federal law enforcement partners.
