Hawaii police honor fallen officer Bronson Kaliloa with 5-mile cross walk
HAWAII ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii police officers are honoring a fallen officer who was killed in the line of duty eight years ago.

Officer Bronson Kaliloa was shot and killed during a high-risk traffic stop involving a wanted man.
On Saturday, officers carried a cross built from ohia for five miles from the Keaau Station to Kaliloa’s memorial. Friends and co-workers helped carry the cross in his honor.
“Bronson was one of the finest human beings around. He was a pleasure to work with. He was a tremendous friend and one of the most outstanding officers in the department,” said Brian Hunt, a Kona patrol officer.

The 5-mile Cross Walk was led by Hawaii police officers from the Puna and Hilo patrols.
Officers organized the event themselves after the department did not officially plan anything for the anniversary.
