City to begin Kuhio Ave. road rehabilitation
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Road work is set to begin next month on a stretch of Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki.

The City and County of Honolulu said rehabilitation between Lewers Street and Royal Hawaiian Avenue starts June 8 and is expected to last about 52 days, with weekday work scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The project includes removing sections of concrete and replacing them with asphalt, along with manhole adjustments, new striping and roadway markers.

Drivers should expect phased construction, lane closures, detours and delays. “No Parking” signs will be posted and vehicles in restricted areas may be towed.
