Hilo man sentenced for possessing child pornography

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Admitted online cult leader Kalana Limkin was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Limkin was sentenced in federal court Thursday.

He was arrested on Dec. 19, 2023, after the FBI executed a federal search warrant and arrested the then-18-year-old in Hilo.

According to court documents, Limkin uploaded multiple pictures of child porn and even sent images of a child being raped in an online chat with an underage girl.

He also admitted to creating the online group “Cultist,” which promotes child porn and self-harm.

Following his prison sentence, Limkin will also be on supervised release for 20 years.
