Building fire extinguished at Kaimuki school
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Honolulu Fire Department extinguished a building fire at William P. Jarrett Intermediate School in Kaimuki Saturday.

The fire broke out at around 10:20 a.m., and first responders were alerted to a building fire at 1903 Palolo Ave. in Kaimuki.
HFD arrived on scene at around 10:30 a.m. and found smoke and flames coming from the first floor of a two-story building.

Fire crews brought the fire under control at around 10:40 p.m., and searches were conducted to ensure no one was inside the building.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze about 10 minutes later.
HFD said overhaul operations were conducted to extinguish remaining hotspots and check for hidden fire within walls and other void spaces.

The cause of the fire and damage to the building is not known at this time.
