Brush fire extinguished near Hanamaulu Beach Park
KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) – Firefighters extinguished a brush fire near Hanamaulu Beach Park early Saturday morning.

The Kauai Fire Department said crews responded just before 2:40 a.m. to a report of a fire near Hehi Road.
When firefighters arrived, they found a 50-by-50-foot brush fire burning near the old Hanamaulu Bridge below Kapule Highway. Crews used hose lines, an aerial master stream, and water shuttled by tanker to bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported, and no structures were threatened.
During the response, the Kauai Police Department temporarily closed Kapule Highway in both directions as a safety precaution. The roadway has since reopened.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
