What’s Cooking: Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya expands to Windward Mall

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Local eatery Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya just opened its seventh Hawaii location at Windward Mall, offering exclusive dishes.

Owner and Founder Tina Wang joined HNN’s Sunrise to talk about the business she founded in 2017. The menu features signature dishes like the Tanaka Classic and Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen, rice bowls, Tokyo curry bowls, and izakaya-style appetizers.

The eatery’s other locations are in Kapolei, Ala Moana Center, Kailua Town, Maui Mall Village, Pearlridge Center, and Mililani.

“Our new yakitori sticks can only be found at our Windward Mall location, including chicken thigh, chicken thigh with green onion, chicken meatball, and chicken kawa,” Wang said.

The menu also features sashimi salads and platters, Poke Don with house-made poke sauce, Unagi Don, Grilled Hamachi Kama, a Three-Choice Hand Roll Set and more.

She said the new windward location also offers indoor and outdoor seating for about 70 guests.

This weekend, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., the windward eatery will offer grand opening specials on lunch combos and gift cards. Also, a portion of proceeds from May will benefit Aloha Harvest, a local nonprofit that reuses quality excess food across Oahu and redistributes it to agencies helping those in need while reducing food waste.
