Increased noise expected around Pohakuloa Training Area during RIMPAC exercises

HILO (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii Island residents may hear increased aircraft activity starting Saturday, as the Rim of the Pacific, or RIMPAC, exercises are underway.

Officials say to expect increased military aircrafts flying around the Pohakuloa Training Area, from Kaneohe Bay and Kona.

The increased aircraft noise is expected intermittently, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., starting Saturday.
