Kam Bowl Restaurant in Kalihi closing, reopening under new ownership

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Kam Bowl Restaurant in Kalihi said it will close next Sunday, June 28, and reopen on July 1 under new management.

The restaurant, located in the Kamehameha Shopping Center, posted a notice to customers on Sunday.

They’re known for oxtail soup and reopened in the former Kenny’s restaurant location in 2016.

Now, 10 years later, the owners are passing on the legacy to another shop that will open in the same spot.

One of the longtime Kam Bowl chefs will continue cooking for the new restaurant, which will be known as Alii Diner.

The owners said some items will stay on the menu, along with some new dishes.

The new restaurant will open on July 1 at 10:30 a.m.

“While our name is changing, we are still the same team dedicated to serving you,” management said.
