Shark warning issued for waters near Pipeline

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Ocean Safety officials have issued a shark warning for waters near Pipeline.

The Honolulu Ocean Safety Department said the warning was issued at 8:42 a.m. Saturday for the Off the Wall–Pipeline area.

Officials said two aggressive sharks, each about 7 feet long, were spotted near shore.

Warning signs have been posted to alert beachgoers.

Anyone who sees or encounters a shark is asked to notify Ocean Safety personnel or call 911 immediately.

Beachgoers are advised to check with a lifeguard for the latest ocean and beach conditions before entering the water.
