A helicopter is scheduled to drape netting over a nearby slope to keep large boulders from falling into the road.

The closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The work comes more than a month after the Kona low storms dislodged boulders from the slope, sending them into the highway.

Crews placed metal plates to protect a water main servicing North Shore customers when the rock mitigation work began. They plan to lift them on Sunday.
